To check how much loan you qualify to get, dial *234*6#

In order to qualify for a loan you will have to be an active M-PESA user for at least 6 months, save regularly on M-Shwari account and continuously use other Safaricom services such as Voice, DATA and M-PESA. You will also need to have deposited some money into your M-Shwari account.

You can borrow a minimum of Ksh. 100. The maximum depends on your loan limit which you can get by dialing *234*6# The loan is payable in 30 days plus a facilitation fee of 7.5% i.e if you borrow Ksh. 1,000 you pay back Ksh. 1,075.00.

If you do not repay your loan in 30 days, you get an extension of further 30 days at an additional cost of 7.5% of the loan amount. If you still do not pay within the 60 days, any money in your M-Shwari account will be frozen upto the amount of money still unpaid. You may however continue saving into the M-Shwari account when your account is frozen, but cannot borrow any more funds.

Your M-PESA account however remains unaffected.
