Kenya Power; How to get your prepaid meter number on the KPLC prepaid meters.

You can have you prepaid meter display its meter number.

You will need a pen and paper ready at hand, then press 100 and press ‘Enter’ on the meter.

The prepaid meter will display your meter number, scrolling automatically from right to left. The display will repeat one more time so you can confirm the number as you wrote it.

Other short codes are:

004 + ENTER – Displays cumulative KWH consumed

007 + ENTER – Displays the maximum power limit setting.

    I actually cann’t quite figure out why many people love the pre-paid meter because I think it is just so iconveniencing when the units run-out.Although it offer a good way to control your power consumpsion, I’d rather stick with the post pay meter. That way I don’t have to worry about power running out on me, but off course I have to be extra careful not to miss-use power.
