You can now get a list of the last 5 transactions in your M-PESA account via SMS on your phone.

To get this statement, press *234#  and select  ‘MPESA Mini-statement’. You will receive the statement in form of an SMS. (This service is free)

This is a List of ALL transactions including Transfers, Withdrawals and purchase of airtime that you have done on your phone. Any transaction will be listed in this statement after about 60 seconds.

This service is particularly helpful to ‘catch’ the fraudstars, who call you claiming that they have sent money to your M-PESA account by mistake and that you send back the money.  Before you refund them, you can now confirm with Safaricom whether indeed money was sent to your account by requesting for this mini-statement.
