What is Wazi WiFi?
Wazi WiFi is an initiative to explore business models that can sustain high speed, low cost WiFi in emerging markets. Wazi is a collaboration between Google, Wananchi Group (K) Ltd. and other local businesses. It lets users surf the internet with their devices within the areas specifically selected (The Junction Area - Nairobi for now)
The network offers 10 minutes free access and paid daily or monthly subscriptions.
How to connect to Wazi WiFi:
Simply connect to the SSID “Wazi” and select your free or paid plan; payment is taken through credit card or mobile payments.
When and where Wazi WiFi will be available?
The network is available today around “Junction” area of Nairobi.
Where will it expand to next, and when?
At this point it is not clear if or how the network will expand, but there are discussions among local businesses to explore the options.
Will the Wazi WiFi charge be per person or per device?
Per device.
Will there be a cap on data usage? What is the cap?
There are no firmly set bandwidth caps, however we urge responsible use of the network, and shall manage excessive usage as guided in the Terms & Conditions
How much does it cost/how much will users have to pay? Will this price remain the same over time?
10 minutes per day, per device is free. One day, per device is 50 KSH. One month, per device is 500 KSH. The price may change over time as new commercial models are explored. All purchases will be honored for the stated period in the event of a pricing change.

You can choose your package and pay online using MPESA, VISA, Airtel Money or PesaPal
