Indeed it is possible to check your KPLC account balance via SMS. Querying your electricity bill via SMS is as easy as:

  1. Open new SMS message
  2. Type the first part of your KPLC A/C number e.g. where 9999945-01, write 9999945
  3. Send the message to 5551
  4. You’ll receive an automatic reply with your account balance details
  5. Currently works on Safaricom & Zain networks and is charged KES5 above normal rates

    i have paid my bills for the last whole year without a hitch. now i have received two bills for the same month of may 2010 . i paid shs 775 vide U07WL058 on 5/6/2010 and another bill of shs 1390.27. please help

    I have tried to get my bill using SMS to confirm if my bill was paid for the last two days without success. i will be forced to go myself tommorow and check my bill from the counter since i sent someone who has not reported to work and i cannot see that transaction in my account. SAFARICOM
